About Me

Therapy shouldn't feel like an obligation; you have enough of those. The most stressful part of this process should be simply picking up the phone or sending an email to schedule your initial session. As someone who believes that every therapist, including Jon Young, should have their own therapist, I understand how challenging that can be. 


Research has shown that the most significant factor for a positive outcome in therapy is the quality of the connection between the client and the therapist. This therapeutic alliance is built on empathy, acceptance, and mutual trust. Will I be the right fit for you? I can't say for sure! However, I offer free 15-minute consultations if you’d like to connect and find out. 


With 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various mental health settings, I utilize techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and even Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Modalities

Accelerated Resolution Therapy, often referred to as ART, is an innovative approach to mental health treatment. Another effective method is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, which focuses on changing negative thought patterns. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, commonly known as EMDR, is also a valuable therapy for trauma resolution. Additionally, practitioners like Jon Young incorporate techniques such as Sandtray Therapy to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
